Diagonal Packing Set

E-250 Fluoromaroon Diagonal Packing is also commonly known as a labrynth seal. Main shafts in processing equipment can be costly to replace if it is not properly protected from mechanical wear from the usual lubricant seals.  Ordinary seals commonly used on process equipment, have extremely limited life and may cause considerable damage to the shaft it is sealing. However, it is possible to control internal leakage of fluids within gas and steam turbines, compressors, and pumps while protecting expensive machinery. The Diagonal Packing Set is installed at the bottom of the stuffing box as a first defense.

UFC Fluorogreen produces Diagonal Packing Sets using E-250 Fluoromaroon and E-100 Virgin PTFE Material. Diagonal Packing Sets are specifically used to control the flow of fluid between moving Parts and are used for sealing in fluid to rotary shafts. The sets restrict the flow of fluid in high and low pressures.

E-250 Fluoromaroon is a chemically modified, unfilled PTFE material whose properties, over non-modified materials are major improvements.  E-250 Fluoromaroon has extremely low deformation, excellent welding capabilities, very high tensile strength and elongation, ultra low void ration, and high dielectric strength.

E-250 Fluoromaroon is an excellent material in high temperature applications. It is especially effective for seals in rotating equipment and is also used to encapsulate metallic components for protection asainst corrosion.

E-250 Fluoromaroon is the perfect choice as a general high performance material. Diagonal packing sets can be manufactured in all our high perfomance materials.
