E-100 Virgin PTFE

Polytetrafluoroethylene or PTFE is a unique material and is the most widely used of all the fluropolymers. Of all the plastics, PTFE has emerged as the most common gasket due to its outstanding properties. These properties include resistance to temperature extremes from -140 F to +500 F. Recognized as the first fluorocarbon material in the world it is the most chemically resistant plastic known.

As a leading manufacturer of PTFE and PTFE filled resins, UFC Fluorogreen can produce and machine parts from this common, well-known material. Using conventional tools and a working knowledge of PTFE our employees are able to ensure quality parts, gaskets and sheet from this type of material.

PTFE is highly resistant to chemicals, solvents, caustics and acids with an exception of free fluorine and alkali metals/fluids. With a non-stick surface few materials adhere to it and those that do are easily removed. Common applications for PTFE include food processing, electrical parts, insulators, medical components, seals, and bearings.
